The day we have been praying for and waiting for is finally here. Today we meet our daughter. I feel like I've known her all of my life already. I long to hold her tight in my arms and kiss her and never let her go!
Time is moving so slow today...as if it is going backwards! We are to meet our daughter at the Provincial Office in GuangZhou at 3pm.
We arrive at the Provincial Office on time but the bus from the orphanage is late in arriving! Finally at 3:15 there is a bustle of activity in the hallway as nannies escort babies under cover to a room down the hall. One poor baby is crying very loudly. I turn to Duane and tell him that this crying baby is our daughter! A few minutes pass and then the orphanage director enters the waiting room with the first baby girl and then the next and then here comes the crying baby and instantly I saw I was right...it was our Madison crying! The poor thing had to be woken up from her nap and was not happy about it! At this point I started crying too (tears of overwhelming joy!), so we just held each other tight and cried.

We arrived back at the hotel around 5pm. The first order of business was a diaper change and a baby inspection! After finishing up, I turned to say something to Duane and in that instant Maddie rolled over and took off crawling and laughing at us as if to say "I bet you didn't  know I could do this!"
We then put her into a stroller and went for a walk in the park so we could show her off! She giggled and cooed and bonded with both her mommy and daddy right away...it all seemed too easy!
We knew for sure that we had been blessed with an angel when she slept through the night that first night alone with two strangers, speaking in a strange new language in a strange hotel room in a strange big city. It all has to be so overwhelming for her...this strange new beginning.
